New Cat Pattern!

I have just finished a new pattern for book folding, a Cat! I include a link here and one on my "All the Patterns" post.  Why a cat, you may ask.  Libraries have always been associated with cats, and I even know of some libraries that keep a pet cat. Mice are an enemy to libraries because of their tendency to chew on books, so it makes sense that a library would want to keep a cat. One major library supplier even has a cat as its mascot. I actually don't have a pet cat myself because of allergies in the family, so here is a way for me to have a "library" cat.

It is the first pattern I made using an outline that wasn't a basic shape or a word.  I started with the basic striped rectangle as described in my Youtube Video about making patterns.  Then I went to Pixabay (a great sight for copyright free images) and looked for a line drawing of a cat.  It didn't take long before I found one, and luckily it had a transparent background. (If it hadn't, I could have easily removed the background using Canva.) I would credit the artist from Pixabay, but they expressly asked people not to credit them.

I tweaked it a little after this fold,
so this does not exactly match the
pattern.  When I make another
sample I will post the new picture.
After that it was pretty easy.  I inserted the picture on top of the lined rectangle and resized it to fit.  I decided to stretch the original a little to make it fill the rectangle better, but in the finished product it doesn't looked stretched out.  The first time I folded the pattern I made some decisions about where to do rectangle and where to do triangle interior folds that I didn't really like, so I undid them, refolded, and revised the pattern. I found it looked best if I created an extra line between the two middle feet.  That made the bottom of the picture more uniform, while clarifying the space between the legs.

If you try this pattern I would love to see your picture!
